Fathers are the Worst
🕒 5:00 PM📍 Sorcerer’s Study - Georgia 5
From Darth Vader to Tywin Lannister, from Denethor to Stannis Baratheon, fantasy is full of fathers who break their children instead of building them up. What about the fact that the Basilisk is probably underfed, has been isolated for centuries, cannot control the fact that its gaze is fatal, and is being controlled by someone who probably cares about them little or not at all? This panel explores the extent to which the basilisk was a tragic figure, how much moral culpability they had for events in COS, and how much sympathy for them and sadness for their final fate we should feel.

* Why do this in the first place?
* What is different about translating fanfiction rather than anything else?
* How do you get started if that's something you're interested in?
